Front-end or direct mode
The front-end or direct mode allows you to dictate and immediately see the transcribed text. Any corrections or formatting can be applied during the dictation phase. In this solution, the voice recognition technology is installed on the workstation used for reporting. This solution allows you to maintain control over the entire report production cycle and make it available to the facility and the patient in real time.
The image below illustrates a conceptual diagram of how it works:
Front-end remote or streaming mode
The front-end remote or streaming mode, although transcription is performed by the server, allows you to dictate and immediately see the transcribed text. Any corrections or formatting can be applied during the dictation phase. In this solution, the voice recognition technology is installed on a server (physical or virtual) that can be internal or external to the hospital's LAN. As with the classic front-end mode, this solution allows you to maintain control over the entire report production cycle and make it available to the facility and the patient in real time.
Back-end or deferred mode
In the back-end or deferred mode, an audio file is created (on the workstation or using a mobile device), and is sent to a server for transcription. The transcribed text, together with the audio, is sent to the secretarial staff who, using synchronized replay, makes any corrections or formatting. This solution optimizes existing workflows, reducing the workload for the transcription staff and increasing their productivity.
